Pictorial Arts Journal (PAJ) is delighted to announce a Folio imprint, conceived to showcase great illustration and other art forms from past to present. Folios will be online publications designed to place the images into the context of a pictorial essay on a traditional page. Any given folio might contain between 6 to 36 pages. This first time out we have 18 pages.
I am especially delighted to have Kinuko Craft and Mahlon Craft, with their permission, as the first folio presentation.
Click on the image and you will be rerouted to the current publishing platform to see the issue. Once there, experiment with and use the navigational tools to fill your screen and zoom in on text and details.
I hope you will bear with me as I discover new and better ways to present wonderful imagery from the past and the present.
Beautiful, Thom! The folio is a wonderful tribute to Kinuko and her husband, Mahlon. I love the title, too: Queen of Elfland. I love her illustrations. You can look at them over and over, and appreciate new things. The colors and beauty are soothing and stimulating, and a treat for the eyes and the heart. I own many of her books, and her calendar prints decorate my office space. Thank you for featuring her work.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annie! I regret that this folio is as short as it is, but such are circumstances. I also regret that it's taking me this long to raise another issue and keep the flow going. But I'm working on the next issue now, expecting it to publish in January. Gotta keep swimming against the current!
